Artist's Comments

I enjoyed working on this piece, a lot. Usagi is so beautiful. Sorry for the bad proportion on her legs. I ran out of space to draw and then it skewed my perspective. I always seem to make a proportional mistake somehow, so to fix it I tried making her dress more fancy and distracting for the eyes to see, as best as I could.

Edit: Cropped the picture and completely cut her leg off. There were enough comments about her mishapen leg. So for now, it will stay this way until I can find a way to fix it. Yippeee.

All of a sudden, she produces a large pink mallet from the negative space up her skirt!

Hi!

Oh my... yes, the leg came out nasty. X( BUT, I still love it. Sometimes these little imperfections give it character... or so I think. XD But you always draw Usagi so beautifully! Something about the senshi you've just got down very nicely in drawing them. The picture is very soft and nice.

Very nice, Reine! ^__^ You know, you don't HAVE to make her whole body fit the paper if she's giving you too much trouble... :lmao:

This is such a gorgeous picture; her eyes are really attractive and the colours are so joyful, calm and relaxing! It puts me into a day-dreaming mode. :) And to think you only used 3-4 colours for this picture! The shading and highlighting is good and I like how it's blended together to make her skin look smooth and delicate. :D

I don't find the pose bad whatsoever! Probably because I could never achieve drawing that pose as good as you. XD;; Never mind that! Um.. *ahem* Well, her expression shows her innocence and shows that she is calm as well. Nice dress, by the way! Very gorgeous indeed. It's so detailed and the folds make her come alive even more! The hair is very smooth and impressive... I want my hair that long! (jokes XD) =P

The background suits the picture and it creates a wet, calm and quiet atmosphere. I like how you left some white in the background, because it's very effective! and the circles in the background finish off the picture. She definitely IS the Moon Princess! :D

Overall, this picture is very sweet and, in a strange way... romantic. *sigh* Keep up the good work and I'll be faving this one. ^o^ :glomp:

I am glad I checked your gallery today. This is beautiful. I am sooo tempted to fav this.... but I just can't do it!! The leg... I just can't fav it! Still, feel no shame, this is extremely beautiful.

Hey,

I didn't see the original but from your edit comment and the ones I read throughout, your having a very common problem to a lot of people. I call it "squeezing." You want to put the entire piece on the page, even as you are running out of room. Seeing the edited version, the piece is very well done, although the closer leg seems a bit thin to me. Maybe its the angle. Meh.

Stop squeezing. Just let your pencil run off the paper, and say to hell with it. It makes the pieces more interesting, if parts of the image are off the canvas. Good Luck in the future!

P.S. I really do like this, which is saying something because Serena has always irked me.

She looks amazing! The legs don't look that bad!
:iconyetome:
Its still a beautiful picture, very stylized. I like how you made her dress, god knows I can't do folds in clothing to save my life but your a very convicning and well done. And you've definitely made her pretty.
